What Makes The School of Counselling Different?
Whether you choose our intensive or standard pathway, you'll experience the same quality of teaching and the same depth of learning. This isn't just about passing assessments – it's about becoming the counsellor you want to be.
Experiential, Not Box-Ticking
We focus on who you're becoming, not just what you can demonstrate. Every lesson integrates theory, self-discovery, and practice.
Qualified Counsellors, Not Just Teachers
All our tutors are practicing counsellors who hold you through the emotional intensity of this work. They're facilitators of your growth, not lecturers.
Nurtured, Not Policed
We treat you as an adult learner developing at your own pace. You're supported, challenged, and held – never judged or policed to success.
What You'll Achieve in 30 Weeks
The standard pathway covers the same comprehensive CPCAB Level 3 curriculum as the intensive – you'll achieve the same qualification, just at a pace that fits your life.

Frequently Asked Questions
When will the exact schedule be confirmed?
We'll confirm times closer to September 2026 based on student preferences. We typically offer Wednesday and Thursday evenings, and Friday mornings. Once enrolled, we'll survey students to find the best time for the cohort.
Can I work full-time while doing the standard course?
Absolutely! The standard course is designed for working professionals. With one 3-4 hour session per week (evenings or mornings) plus 3+ hours self-study, most students balance full-time work successfully.
Is the standard course easier than the intensive?
It's not easier academically – you'll cover the same CPCAB Level 3 content and achieve the same qualification. The difference is pace. The standard course spreads the learning over 30 weeks instead of 18, giving you more time to process and integrate between sessions.
What if the schedule doesn't work for me once it's confirmed?
We try to accommodate as many students as possible when setting the schedule. If the confirmed time genuinely doesn't work, we can discuss deferring to a future cohort or potentially switching to the intensive pathway if timing aligns.
I completed Level 2 elsewhere. Can I join your standard course?
Absolutely! As long as you have a CPCAB Level 2 qualification, you're welcome. We'll make sure you feel supported from day one.
Do I need to find my own placement or work with real clients?
No. Level 3 doesn't require placement hours. All your practice happens within the course in a safe, supervised environment with other students.
Can I switch to the intensive if I change my mind?
Potentially, if spaces are available and timing works. The intensive runs February-June, while standard runs September-March/April. We'll discuss your learning needs during your interview to help you choose the right pathway from the start.
What technology do I need?
A laptop or desktop with webcam, microphone, and stable internet. We use Zoom for lessons and tools like Padlet for activities. Everything is browser-based – no special software needed.
