More Than Training
A Revolution in Learning

We're here to transform how counselling education is delivered - putting learners at the heart of everything we do.

Our Story

The School of Counselling was founded in 2023, but the idea started long before - back in 2021 when I saw something missing in the marketplace.

Not that quality training didn't exist. It did. But it was never marketed as what it truly is: dynamic, interactive, transformative learning where self-awareness and personal growth thrive.

The fundamental aspects of these courses - their revolutionary potential to help people understand themselves, understand others better, and improve their communication - were being hidden. Undersold. And I wasn't going to let that happen.

I felt I had the tools, abilities, and resources to create something different. A company that fully recognised the exceptional journey counselling courses offer students.

There was no single defining moment or milestone. Just persistence. Problem-solving. A dogged trust in the process. Encountering challenges, yes - but never encountering problems I couldn't negotiate or overcome.

Each step was simply that: a step along the path. Not the destination, but part of the journey.

What Drives Us

At the heart of what we do is revitalising Carl Rogers's belief in the individual's capacity to achieve what they need - on their terms, in their ways.

Person-Centred Education

Rogers coined "person-centred counselling." He also coined "learner-centred education."

That's what we embody.

The needs of the student are the priority. The student participates in their own learning journey. They have a voice in the direction it takes. Their involvement is crucial.

We take responsibility for facilitating the environment. But we refuse to take responsibility for the adult learner themselves. We don't police or monitor you to success.

We trust you to manage your learning around your life - not the other way around.

You Are the Living Textbook

We don't want to know what the dictionary says about empathy. We want to know what YOU say empathy is.

You bring your experiences. You share them with the group. We learn the variations - what empathy means for some, what it doesn't mean for others.

This is experiential learning. You're not memorising theory. You're exploring yourself, alongside others from across the UK and around the world - Austria, Spain, Dubai, Canada.

This diversity? You can't get that in a local classroom. And it transforms the learning experience.

How We're Different

We highlight what other providers fail to notice. And what we notice is substantial.

No Rigid
Deadlines

We set work regularly, but we don't set deadlines. You're told you need to complete work to get the criteria. We mention it helps to get into a rhythm.

That's it. The rest is yours to manage around your life.

We trust you as an adult learner.

Small Groups, Big Impact

Our classes average 12 students maximum. We don't want a sea of Zoom faces staring back.

We want you to engage, interact, participate. Not hide.

Small groups mean you're seen, heard, and supported throughout your journey.

International Diversity

Being online means we welcome students from across the UK and internationally.

One lesson brings together perspectives from different cultures, backgrounds, and parts of the globe.

This surpasses what local classrooms can offer - and it's transformative.

Our Tutors

Not just facilitators. Qualified counsellors.

We have a rich variety of tutors delivering our courses. All are qualified, practicing counsellors - not just trainers reading from a script.

This matters more than you might think.

Counselling training can be vulnerable, challenging work. When emotions surface - and they will - you need someone who knows how to hold that space. Someone trained in offering emotional safety and reassurance.

Our tutors don't police you to success. They facilitate your growth. They're there when the work gets difficult, when you're questioning yourself, when you need guidance without judgment.

They embody what we teach: person-centred practice. They see you as the expert in your own journey. They're companions on the path, not lecturers standing above you.

This is what many providers miss. And it's what makes all the difference.

Progress from Level 2 to Level 3

We're in a period of growth. We're building new courses - supervision training and couples counselling - launching in late 2026. We're also exploring in-person delivery, though that's a different creature than online and requires careful consideration.

What sets us apart? We're small, swift, and decisive. While other providers stick rigidly to annual intakes, we respond to student needs. If we have minimum numbers, we'll start a course sooner.

We're here to serve you - not dictate to you.

Our systems are robust. We're just a few clicks away from starting a new cohort, pivoting our schedule, or adapting to what students need. This agility is rare in training providers. And it's one of our greatest strengths.

What You'll Walk Away With

Whether you become a professionally trained counsellor or not, the minimum you'll walk away with is a better understanding of yourself, of others, and improved communication - both personally and professionally.

These courses offer the opportunity to transform relationships. To improve how you connect with people. To understand yourself in ways you never have before.

And right now? The world desperately needs more of that.
